Why Plattenbrand exists.

Behind Plattenbrand is Lennart Hämmerle — building websites since 2000: large portals like sixx.de and fem.com, online shops, years of coaching founders on WordPress at UnternehmerTUM in Munich, and countless projects for small businesses.

Across all those years, the same pattern kept showing: the systems were too big for what a small business actually needs. Updates overwhelmed the owners, maintenance ended up back with the agency — and everyone kept feeding a giant system that earned the business nothing. At some point it was clear: the customers are not the problem. The tooling is.

So today we build differently: every site custom-made on a modern, fast foundation without the update treadmill — with AI as a tool that keeps paths short and prices fair. “In more than 25 years I have never built websites as good as the ones we build now,” Lennart says about this way of working — and he means it literally: faster, cleaner, and more carefree than anything before.

And the why is clear: the small businesses. Recommendations have moved online and the yellow pages have lost their meaning — whoever is not properly represented on the web simply does not exist for new customers. We want the local craftsman and the practice next door to hold their ground: well represented, findable, without having to take care of any of it. How much does a website cost?

A complete static website is €950 one-off plus €20/month for hosting and care. Sites with an admin area (manage content yourself) start at €1,900. All prices plus VAT. No hidden costs, no quote ping-pong — and you see your site finished before you pay. No upfront payment.

How long does it take?

Usually a few days from request to finished site — not weeks or months. You see the result live in your browser and then decide in your own time.

Do I need to meet you in person?

No. Everything runs in writing — request, coordination, approval. Our clients are based across Germany and abroad; distance plays no role.

What about data protection?

Your website is hosted in Germany, GDPR-compliant and without a cookie banner. Imprint and privacy policy come fully set up, and the contact form only stores what is needed to handle your enquiry.

What if I don’t like the site?

Then you pay nothing. That’s the core promise: we build your site first, you see it finished — and only buy it if you like it. No justification, no negotiation.

How does the domain work?

Your finished site first goes live at its own demo address — that’s where you review it before paying anything. Once you’ve paid, we move it to your domain. If you already have one, you keep it, of course: your provider only needs to change one setting — we tell you word for word which one. If you don’t have one yet, we register your preferred domain for you; common endings like .de or .com are even included.

Who takes care of updates and changes later?

The technical side is fully covered by the €20/month: hosting, security, backups and stack updates — and thanks to the static stack there are no plugin updates or security-hole treadmill like WordPress. Content changes after completion follow clear rules: small, clearly defined tweaks — a changed text or a swapped image — cost a flat €39. Bigger changes get a fixed-price quote up front, and for a complete redesign we give you a 30% discount on the regular price of a new site. So you always know the cost before we start. All prices plus VAT.
